As a fourth-generation family business, we produce natural clothing in which everyone feels comfortable - in a team that became family to us. We all love what we do. And what is particularly important: we do it with absolute conviction.

How it all began ...

We have been producing garments since 1930. From 1982 onwards, we consistently pursued the focus on natural textiles only. A big part of this motivation came from an increase of allergies and skin diseases in babies and small children. This made us one of the pioneers of the natural textile industry, long before it became a trend. And proves pretty well what makes us special - even if we don't think it's so special ourselves. But simply a matter of course.

In our merino wool and silk, we have found the perfect material for realising our vision of natural clothing for babies, children and adults. We create clothing made from natural fibers that make you feel comfortable. Because we believe that good things can always be made even better.

    A full 100 % of our clothing is produced in Germany.

    It all began in 1930. Since 1982, we have been a GmbH and have since brought natural materials and sustainability into fashion.

  • 80 tons of wool

    We process 80 tons of wool per year for our products. From this, one could spin a wool thread that would wrap around the Earth three times. (A wool thread of 1 g is approximately 1.5 m long).

  • 50 kilometres

    Our manufacturing takes place within a 50-kilometre radius of our site in Pfullingen.

  • 500,000 pieces

    Our popular wool fleece overall has protected at least half a million little people from moisture, cold, heat, wind, and weather – and looked good while doing it.

  • 100 delicious cakes

    Are baked on average each year for the birthday celebrations of our employees.

  • 167,000 sheep

    Worked for ENGEL in production in 2023. (However, not on-site in Pfullingen but in their homeoffice in South America)

  • It’s a Women’s World

    72 % of our employees are women.

  • 34 countries

    This is how many countries we supply with our products.

  • 750,000 items

    We produce approximately this number each year. We consider that quite a lot, which is why it is so important to us that an item is timelessly beautiful and responsibly made.

  • 88 % renewable energy

    Renewable energy already accounts for 88 % of the company’s total energy consumption. We meet 100 % of our total company-wide electricity requirements with green electricity.

    Life is an adventure. We want you to always feel good about it. We have been producing unique natural clothing for over 90 years. Not in the Far East, but in the southwest of Germany. And 90% of it is with partners within a radius of 100 km. All done with passion, heart, sense and understanding. The result is healthy, stylish and comfortable clothing from sustainable sources. Nature is close to our hearts - and all those who experience their big and small adventures in it.

    Merino wool and silk

    We wouldn’t want to overuse the word "miracle". But merino wool and silk are close to it. No technology or synthetic fibre can do what they do. They are naturally dirt- and water-repellent and regulate the body climate perfectly. They cool in summer and warm in winter. And they have prooved UPF protection from 22 of up to 50 (depending on colour and fabric density). We firmly believe that nature has the best ideas. We bring them to bear.

    Local & responsible

    Nature should be able to develop freely. We source our merino wool exclusively from sheep that live outdoors in Patagonia (South America) in controlled organic livestock farming. In our headquarters in Pfullingen, we work with our partners to ensure that this wool is used to create our timeless, soft, natural clothing. You can see it, and you will feel it.

    • ENGEL Reborn

      Less becomes more: We make the most out of our material resources. Unavoidable offcuts from the production of our precious products made from natural fibres are processed into new yarns in a recycling process. Using 30 % recycled fibres (wool/silk) and 70 % virgin fibres, we use these to create cosy, warm roll-neck jumpers. These are made from 80 % merino wool and 20 % silk – for a sense of well-being and a clear conscience.

    • Unique pieces and limited editions

      Every item of clothing has its story. We give leftover scraps of fabric the opportunity to write their own. We produce unique pieces in colours and fabric qualities that are not available in our range. They are unique garments that are ready to discover the world with you.     • Returns

      We are delighted when you consciously choose and order our textiles. To make sure you get the right piece of clothing right from the start, we are always happy to advise you on materials and sizes.
